All Highline students and their families are invited to take the next step towards their future at Future Ready Fest on Wednesday, September 25 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. 

This free, drop-in college and career resource fair is designed to guide high school students, especially seniors, through the next steps of their education and career journeys.

Join over 60 colleges, career programs, and community partners offering personalized advice, one-on-one help in our Senior Lab, and hands-on workshops tailored just for you.  

Get support setting up financial aid accounts, applying for scholarships, and completing college applications—everything you need to feel confident about your next steps.

There will be family-friendly activities for younger siblings, along with refreshments and prizes to make it a fun evening for everyone.

Language support will be available in Vietnamese, Spanish and Somali, with additional assistance available upon request.

Explore a variety of opportunities with more than 60 college, career and community partners at this fair-style event. Get the information you need to make informed decisions about your future.  

Senior Lab: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

Receive personalized support with setting up financial aid accounts, applying for scholarships, and completing college applications. This is your chance to get one-on-one guidance.

Workshops

Round 1: 5:15 p.m.

  • Senior Year Timeline (Offered in Spanish and English)
    • Get a crash course on senior year college and career planning, including High School & Beyond Planning (HSBP) requirements, Guaranteed Admission Programs, financial aid updates and more. Perfect for seniors and their families. 
  • Trades and Apprenticeships Pathway Panel 
    • Hear directly from professionals about different trades and apprenticeship options. Discover whether a community, technical college or apprenticeship program is the right fit for you. 
  • Explore! Student Opportunities
    • Maximize your college and career exploration with information on internships, work-based learning, field trips, and exploration programs designed to amplify your journey.

Round 2: 6:15 p.m.

  • Ways to Pay: Tips on Making College and Career Training Programs Affordable (Offered in English and Spanish)
    • Get the latest updates on the financial aid process for FAFSA and WASFA. Learn about scholarships available to Highline Public Schools students to make your education more affordable.
  • Promise Scholars Program
    • Discover the Promise Scholars Program at Highline, Tyee, Mount Rainier and Evergreen. This program is open to all students but focuses on supporting Black, Pacific Islander, Native American, and Latino male/non-binary students.
  • High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP)
    • Learn about the HSBP requirements for grades 6-12, which are required for graduation. Get tips on how to support students through this process to ensure they graduate prepared for their future.
  • College for All Abilities
    • Explore transition and support programs for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP), ensuring all students have access to college opportunities.

Round 3: 7:15 p.m.

  • Future Ready Alumni: Learning from Alumni Experiences
    • Hear from alumni who are now attending college or pursuing careers. Learn from their unique experiences, including navigating college as multilingual learners or being the first in their families to attend college.
  • Achieve AND Building Future Leaders: Latino Civic Alliance (LCA)
    • Learn about the support programs offered by the Latino Civic Alliance to help you succeed.
  • Choose Your Pathway!
    • Explore the unique differences between community/technical college, university, trade, apprenticeship, and military options. Find out which path aligns with your interests, skills, and future career goals.
