We want to share an important update about next year’s schedule and transportation plan for 12th grade students in the Marine Science pathway.
Beginning in fall 2025,12th-grade students will take classes at Maritime High School and then travel to Highline College in the afternoon for college-level classes.
This change is designed to:
- Ensure every student has access to an advisory teacher to support their path to graduation.
- Help students feel more connected to Maritime HS by spending more time on the campus and engaging with their peers and teachers.
- Provide greater flexibility in college course selection, without needing to return to Maritime afterward.
There are a variety of Highline College classes that begin at 1:00 p.m., allowing students to take a full course load without needing to return to Maritime afterward.
We will provide daily transportation from Maritime High School to Highline College. Students will be dismissed from Highline College at the end of their classes and are responsible for arranging their own transportation home from the college.
We will share more details, including transportation timing and course scheduling, as they become available.
