Dear MHS Families,

Happy Friday! We would like to use this newsletter to make sure you are up to date with some upcoming important events as we only have 18 days left of school.

Next Week at A Glance & Save the Dates:

    • May 26th - Admiral Jack at Harbor Island - Ms. Mia’s Crew

    • June 7th - All Crews - Canoe Launch @ Seahurst Beach Park

    • June 9th - All Crews -  Blake Island Trip - Admiral Jack

      • Drop off at school at 8:30 (Students may arrive at 8AM for breakfast) and dismissal is at 1PM (Early Release Friday schedule). Please let Ms. Heather know if you need transportation assistance. HPS will not be able to provide transportation that day since we don’t regularly have those routes in place. Students have ORCA Cards or can work on carpooling that day.

    • June 16th - Last Day of School - 8:30 AM-11:30 AM (No Lunch Served)

Reminders & News:

  • We will be selecting seven student leaders for our Maritime High School Student Advisory Board (Future Associate Student Body - ASB). These students will serve a term for the 22/23 school year. Some of the work will include developing a constitution, setting up roles and responsibilities for ASB designated positions (e.g., President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary, etc.). Please email or call Ms. Heather if your student is interested.

  • Exciting news! King County Metro is providing free Summer Youth ORCA Passes to all 8th - 12th grade students who are eligible for free or Reduced-Price Lunches at their schools. The passes will work on the bus, light rail, water taxi, and more to help young people get around the Sound this summer!

  • Check out our ongoing list of free and/or scholarship-accessible summer programs! Many deadlines are approaching at the end of this month

If you have any other questions, please feel free to call the office at 206-631-7400.
