Principal Tremaine Holloway welcomed State Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos to Maritime High School along with key figures from the maritime industry and local community. As Chair of the House Education Committee, Rep. Santos visited Maritime to learn more about the program and ways to support our innovative choice school model.
Rep. Santos was guided by students Ethan Ma and Zayne Glantz on a comprehensive tour of the school. She visited aquaponics, humanities, and woodshop classes to speak with students and teachers about their experiences and the learning model.
Following the tour, Principal Holloway led a roundtable discussion, where students and attendees engaged in thoughtful conversations about the maritime industry's significance, the importance of the Duwamish River and South Park Community, and the vital role of parent partnerships and the broader Highline community.
It was a truly inspiring gathering, underscoring the power of collaboration and education in shaping the future of the maritime industry and its impact on the local community.
