This week I’m excited and proud to announce the culmination of a year’s worth of conversation and work: our new logo and mascot.
We felt it was important to give our students, staff and community a voice in who the Maritime school community is and how we are represented visually.
In the fall we assembled a student committee that worked to consider what the Maritime logo should represent. In the spring we finalized a mascot—the Maritime Waves. And this summer we worked to bring the Maritime Wave to life.
Our logo is clean and simple. It features blue, teal and green—the colors represent ocean and river waterways. The green tree represents the ecosystems that students work within and the environment and sustainability that is so critical to our students and future generations.
A complementary professional graphic showing our Maritime M with a wave through it will continue to be used. This provides versatility and adaptability for our various work and provides continuity in our Maritime image.
In the next few days, you’ll begin to see our Maritime Wave on our website, social media and letterhead and next year on our campus and on our spiritwear.
Thank you to our various committees and committee members for their time in this process. I’m proud to lead the Maritime Waves!
Thank you,
Tremain Holloway
