The Bilingual Teaching Fellows program is a Grow-Your-Own teaching pathway designed for paraeducators, who are proficient in one of our target languages (Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali), to earn a bachelor’s in education and teaching certification. Fellows work in elementary school settings while taking courses with Western WA University (WWU) in the evening. This program is two years long and prepares students to work as dual language teachers in elementary schools.

Current employees and new applicants are encouraged to apply. In order to be eligible, you must:
- Demonstrate a high level of language skills in English and Spanish, Vietnamese or Somali
- Possess or close to completing a transferable associate's degree
- WEST-B scores (We can help you complete this assessment!)

Preparation
Please reach out if you are interested in a future cohort! We can work together to ensure the courses you are taking will transfer into the university.
